The "10th National Middle School Student Water Science and Technology Invention Competition and the Stockholm Youth Water Prize China Regional Selection Competition" was recently unveiled in Beijing. Liu Yige, Liu Fang and Zhang Yueli of Beijing Xicheng Foreign Language School won the special prize of the high school group with the “Solar Park Surface Cleanup Ship” project, and will represent China in Sweden to participate in the “Stockholm Youth Water Prize” finals in August this year. The competition is known as the "World Youth Water Technology Nobel Prize".

Wen Xianghua, a judge of the competition and a professor at the Environmental College of Tsinghua University, said that many students this year have targeted design solutions based on the water waste and water environment problems they encounter in their daily lives.

The participating projects are generally forward-looking and closely related to the hot topic of international water resources protection, reflecting the Chinese youth's concern for the natural environment and the awareness of technological innovation. The “Solar Park Surface Cleaning Ship” project, which won the special prize, uses solar energy to drive mechanical robots and automatically clean up the garbage on the water surface. It has the advantages of practicality, displayability and high automation.
