The 863 project titled “ Development of Natural Gas Engines †undertaken by China Heavy-Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. passed the acceptance of the expert group in Jinan on June 28, 2011. Natural gas engines use natural gas as fuel to generate power. Compared with gasoline engines and diesel engines, natural gas engines have cleaner emissions and are widely used internationally. Due to the late start of China's natural gas engine technology development, there is still a gap between the product technology level and the international developed countries. In recent years, under the impetus of the state, China's natural gas engines and heavy-duty vehicle R&D technologies equipped with natural gas engines have achieved significant development and progress. The CNHTC Group’s scientific and technical personnel who undertook the task of “Development of Natural Gas-specific Enginesâ€, through the combination of production, study and research, and CNHTC’s natural gas engine, have independently developed an electronic control system and a gas supply system to enhance the overall combustion technology. We have successfully developed natural gas fuel engines that meet the National IV emission standards. The industrialized natural gas engine has achieved breakthrough improvement in terms of power, reliability, economy, and environmental protection.
