Direct production of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride from fluorosilicic acid

The first set of one-step installations realized long-period operation. On February 27th, good news came from Guizhou Yifu Blue Sky Fluorine Chemicals Co., Ltd. In 2011, the company's anhydrous hydrogen fluoride unit achieved stable long-term operation, and produced anhydrous hydrogen fluoride product 1.5 Tens of thousands of tons of profits exceed 30 million yuan. This indicates that the technology for obtaining anhydrous hydrogen fluoride from fluorosilicic acid in China has matured. This device has also become the world's first stable industrialized device using this technology.
At present, this technology has attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign manufacturers. Yuntianhua and Hubei Xingfa have conducted feasibility studies on the introduction of this technology. Phosphorus fertilizer companies in South Africa and Saudi Arabia also intend to introduce the technology. Industry experts said that in the context of the traditional fluorite hydrogen fluoride technology encountering resource bottlenecks, the technology is expected to bring more orders to the Blue Sky.
According to reports, this technology was developed by Wengfu Group's fluorosilicic acid technology imported from Bosch, Switzerland, and it is a one-step process that directly decomposes fluorosilicic acid into hydrogen fluoride and silicon dioxide. Compared with the hydrogen fluoride technology produced by the two-step process of fluorosilicic acid which is currently being researched and developed in China, this technology has the advantages of short process, low energy consumption and low cost, but the requirements for equipment are relatively high.
It is understood that at the end of March 2008, Wufu Bluesky used the one-step process to build a complete set of equipment to produce an anhydrous hydrogen fluoride product. In mid-April, the anhydrous hydrogen fluoride produced by the device reached the standard of industrial-grade products, but the subsequent equipment problems once hindered the continuous operation of the device. The first is that under the strong corrosion of hydrofluoric acid, the lining of the mixed reactor equipment of sulfuric acid and fluorosilicic acid is damaged, which poses risks to safety production and the environment. Immediately after that, the hydrofluoric acid and fluorosilicic acid separators imported from Germany were forced to be scrapped only for four months under high temperature and strong corrosion conditions.
In order to solve the equipment problem, Qi Fu blue sky and domestic equipment manufacturers to tackle the key features of the new process, innovation and improved equipment structure, so that the device step by step to achieve the conditions of long-term operation. From the successful commissioning of the equipment to the stable production of basic production, it took half a year. In 2009, the operation of the equipment remained basically smooth, but in the financial crisis, it failed to achieve profitability and was in a state of loss. In 2010, the device turned a profit. In 2011, the device truly achieved long-term stable operation. At this point, the process technology of directly producing anhydrous hydrogen fluoride from the by-product of phospho-silicic acid produced from phosphate fertilizer is actually taking root in China.
The new process was quickly replicated within the Fuk Group. On January 12, 2012, the foundation stone laying ceremony was held for the project of the annual production of 10,000 tons of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in Fujian Qifu Lantian Industrial Park in Shangyang County, Fujian Province.
