Here are some stunning photos and a video capturing the intense 4-alarm apartment fire that broke out in Oak Park on Tuesday night.
On October 20th, 2015, around 9:30 PM, Oak Park Engine 620 responded to a 4-story apartment building with flames bursting from the roof. Shortly after arrival, Engine 620 requested a box alarm. Firefighters initiated an interior attack but quickly faced water supply issues, forcing them to withdraw due to the overwhelming fire conditions. A second alarm was called, and additional resources were dispatched, including ladder trucks, aerial units, and master streams. Oak Park Engine 631 was positioned on side A, River Forest Engine 219 at the A/B corner, Cicero Truck 2 on the C side, Berwyn Engine 904 on the D side, and Chicago Truck 29 at the A/D corner working alongside flowing water. The fire spread across all four floors, creating significant exposure risks on the C side.
