Rokoko, a Danish start-up company, developed the Smartsuit Pro motion capture kit. Unlike previous motion capture kits that affixed the camera to actors, the Smartsuit Pro kit completely abandoned the traditional method of capturing human motion with a camera, using sensors and WiFi. The network records and transmits human motion data in real time to the computer for further processing.

The Smartsuit Pro package spreads 19 sensors across the wearer's body, each equipped with a gyroscope, accelerometer, and photometer. Using the data from each sensor, the system algorithm can calculate the relative three-dimensional position of each sensor.

All sensors' data will be integrated into a “data collector” on the back of the kit. The collector will transmit data to the computer system through the connection to the WiFi network. The data collector is powered by a small, built-in battery that can be used up to 8 hours at a time and can be charged via the USB interface. For comfort, the data collector is lighter than an iPhone.

This package is priced at US$2,245 (approximately RMB15,587) and shipments are scheduled to begin in February 2017.
