Japan Industrial Machinery Industry Association released statistics on the 13th, in 2011, Japan's total amount of industrial machinery orders increased by 10.3% over the previous year, reaching 5,265.6 billion yen (about 427.3 billion yuan RMB), for two consecutive years of year-on-year growth.

The domestic order volume growth of 6.9% was 311,64 billion yen, and the overseas order volume increased by 15.9% to 2,110.1 billion yen. In domestic orders, orders for manufacturing increased by 7.5% to 1,037.7 billion yen; non-manufacturing increased by 13.8% to 1,286.8 billion yen; and government orders decreased by 6.2% to 553.9 billion yen.

The amount of orders for nine kinds of machinery such as boilers, engines, mining machinery, chemical machinery, and plastic processing machinery increased. Reduced orders for compressors, blowers and metalworking machinery.
