Plasticizer (Taiwan's plasticizer) is an indispensable product in plastics and rubber processing. According to Si Junjie, head of the National Plasticizer Industry Cooperation Group, at present, China has become the world's largest producer, importer, and consumer of plasticizers. The annual production capacity of plasticizers in the country has exceeded 4 million tons, accounting for more than 50% of the world's total production capacity, of which the production capacity of o-benzene plasticizers accounted for more than 80%, and such plasticizers have been subject to strict international control . The annual consumption of plasticizers in China is about 2.5 million tons, of which high-end varieties are heavily dependent on imports, and the annual import volume is nearly 300,000 tons.
According to the current public opinion misleading of plasticizers and terrorist rumours, Shi Wancong, former chief engineer of Hebei Daily Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., and Jiang Pingping, professor of the School of Chemistry and Materials Engineering at Jiangnan University believe that plasticizers should be correctly understood. Participating experts and representatives suggested that relevant state departments should strengthen industry management, formulate industrial plans and policies, eliminate backward production capacities and processes, limit production facilities with an annual output of 50,000 tons or less, and promote industrial transformation and upgrading; increase policy support and accelerate The research and development of environment-friendly and multifunctional plasticizers and the formulation of new plasticizer product standards promote the upgrading of products and meet the development needs of related industries.
The meeting also called for a joint control mechanism for the illegal use of plasticizers and strict supervision of the rational use of downstream industries, especially the use of o-benzene plasticizers in food additives and feed additives to ensure the safety of public property and health .
Zhou Zhuye, vice president of the Petrochemical Federation, suggested at the meeting that the plasticizer industry should formulate a long-term development plan, resolutely implement the structural adjustment and transfer methods, and rely on advances in science and technology to realize the upgrading of raw material routes, process technologies, and product structures. It is necessary to strengthen self-discipline in the industry, improve product quality, and build brand names in the industry; we must actively participate in the implementation of responsible care and make due contributions to the rapid economic development of our country.
