Independent innovation is the key to the development of the mold industry

China's mold industry's production capacity has accounted for nearly 10% of the world's total, ranking third in the world, second only to Japan and the United States. However, the technical status quo is worrying. The level of mold technology is much behind that of industrial advanced countries. The overall level is about 15 years behind that of Germany, the United States, and Japan. How to improve the independent innovation capability of the domestic mold industry in terms of policies, models, and technologies has become an important topic in the mold industry.

In the innovation model, although the mold industry has originality, integration, and the introduction of digestion and absorption to re-innovate the three main modes of independent innovation, there are also successful cases, but the mold is a high-tech integrated machine, electricity, light, and chemical Technical products, CAD/CAM/CAE, high-speed machining, rapid prototyping, precision forming, superfinishing, information networks and other technologies have all been applied, and are therefore more suitable for integrated innovation. Of course, it is also very important that the original independent innovation of certain core technologies and the introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation of some technologies.

Breakthroughs must be made in key core technologies due to the wide variety of molds and wide applications. Therefore, independent innovation should select the key points, take the lead in breakthroughs, and then drive the overall situation. In the next five to ten years, first, the market needs a large quantity, such as major breakthroughs in the automobile cover molds and large-scale and precision molds that mainly rely on imports and can represent the development direction. In order to rapidly improve the innovation capability and mold design and manufacturing level in China's mold industry, some key technologies must be broken through and applied in actual production. The mold industry has about ten key technologies that can be integrated into two major projects:

1. Development and application of digital design and manufacturing technology and network service platform for molds This mainly includes the digital design and manufacturing technology (including modularization, integration, and collaborative design techniques) and networked service platform that lead the future development direction of the mold industry. In two aspects, integrated innovation is the main focus, and innovation results are applied to production. The goal is to improve the overall level of the mold industry and core competitiveness, shorten the mold production cycle, and reduce production costs.

2. Research, development and manufacturing of large-scale, sophisticated automobile molds This is for the rapid development of the automotive industry, which requires automobile environmental protection, energy conservation, safety, and light weight, and the fact that automobile molds need to be imported in large quantities. We need to carry out innovative research on the high-strength plate hot press forming process and molds and plastic forming technology and molds, and use the results for production, so that the hot press forming mold to fill the gaps in the domestic, plastic forming mold to improve the level, change the current large number of imports controlled by people The situation to adapt to and promote the development of China's auto industry.

The above key technologies cover most of the major areas of the mold industry, and are mostly common technologies that can be used in the industry after breakthroughs.

Guiding policy and measures In order to improve the ability of the mold industry to innovate independently, industries and enterprises need to be supported by all parties in addition to their active efforts. In particular, the active guidance and vigorous support of the relevant government departments are even more important.

First, relevant government departments should issue relevant policies and vigorously encourage the improvement of independent innovation capabilities. The first is to establish a special fund to support the research and development of key technologies that will have a significant impact on improving innovation capabilities. Second is to implement taxation, payment, and other aspects of preferential treatment for relevant enterprises, encourage relevant organizations to invest funds in research and development, and third, to guide local governments. Increase the support for the mold industry, promote local governments to introduce some preferential policies to protect and support the local mold companies and related units technological innovation; fourth is to develop plans, rationalize relationships, establish a reasonable coordination mechanism, and promote the healthy development of the industry.

2. While enriching and improving the existing national key laboratories and engineering centers, it is recommended to establish a National Engineering Center for Stamping Dies and a National Key Laboratory of Mold Materials.

Third, establish a national mold industry technology development center and product testing center, strengthen the mold technology development work and mold product quality inspection.

Fourth, strengthen personnel training. Talent is the basic guarantee for independent innovation. It is recommended that with the support of the state, a national mold and technology training center with the goal of training teachers and senior talents, especially innovative talents, should be established. At the same time, foreign intellectuals should be actively introduced.

Fifth, give full play to the role of social intermediary organizations such as industry associations.

The future development goal of the mold industry is that by 2010, the proportion of middle-to-high-grade molds with large technological content, such as large-scale, sophisticated, and sophisticated technologies, will increase from the current 30% to 40%; the export volume of mold products will reach more than US$1 billion; the comprehensive mold level will reach the advanced level in Asia. Level. By 2015, China will make mold production into a strong country.
