In the aftermath of the 1990s, in the tide of the market economy, due to the aging of equipment, backward technology, lack of funds, brain drain, and poor management, most of the original key equipment manufacturing enterprises experienced declines in production and operations, and some companies lost their status as domestic leaders. The bankruptcy even went out of business.

With the increase in investment and investment in recent years and the rise of private enterprises, the equipment manufacturing industry in Chengde gradually recovers, with intelligent instrumentation, wind power equipment, ground (water) source heat pump equipment, oil extraction equipment, auto parts, automatic transmission The advanced equipment manufacturing industry represented by equipment, automatic weighing equipment, mining machinery, energy saving and environmental protection equipment has developed rapidly.

"We should soberly realize that there are still some prominent contradictions and problems in the equipment manufacturing industry in Chengde." In cultivating new equipment manufacturing industry, the city focuses on transportation equipment, wind power equipment, petroleum equipment, energy-saving and environmental protection equipment, auto parts, etc., relying on the existing foundation, upgrading the manufacturing level, integrating processing capabilities, focusing on system integration, and cultivating leading Enterprises, the introduction of leading enterprises, and promote the equipment manufacturing industry to the fine, complete, high-end, group development.

Through the construction of bases, parks, and virtual consortiums, we will integrate transportation equipment, wind power equipment, intelligent instrumentation, and petroleum equipment to promote it. We will focus on promoting the popularization and application of DCS distributed control systems and other advanced technologies to increase the technological content of products. . Relying on the advantages of vanadium and titanium in Chengde, we will accelerate the development and manufacturing of new materials including vanadium alloys, promote its excellence, and create new highlights. We will increase the support for new equipment such as PV production equipment and promote its extension to the downstream to form a new industrial chain across industries.

At the same time, we will intensify the construction of the park, form an industrial agglomeration effect, and actively undertake the transfer of the Beijing-Tianjin equipment manufacturing industry and the matching of high-end products. Concentrate its efforts on promoting the construction of two industrial agglomerations in Zhangping Bay and Zhangde County, Zhangping, and guide advanced equipment manufacturers to enter the park to achieve effective allocation of production factors and reasonable distribution of upstream and downstream industrial chains.

According to Wu Qinghai, in 2007 Chengde City implemented 87 high-end equipment manufacturing projects with a total investment of over 10 billion yuan. This year, the city plans to implement more than 100 high-end equipment manufacturing projects with a total investment of over 20 billion yuan. It is estimated that by 2015, the city's above-scale equipment manufacturing enterprises will achieve an industrial added value of about 12 billion yuan, nurturing three equipment manufacturing bases with an output value exceeding 2 billion yuan, and 10 equipment manufacturing companies with output value exceeding 500 million yuan.
