Des Plaines Engine 61 was the first to arrive and confirmed the fire in the garage. The crews launched an aggressive attack, but some flames spread into the main house. Engine 61 was positioned at a hydrant in the cul-de-sac, providing critical water supply for the operation. Interior crews reported fire at the top of the stairs on the second floor and in the attic, indicating the fire had grown quickly. Additional support came from Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Niles, and North Maine Fire Protection District, helping to manage the situation effectively. Multiple fire trucks were seen responding to the call, with several Pierce Enforcer and Arrow XT units on scene.
