New energy revitalization plan draft exposure: Nuclear power wind power solar power generation ratio increased significantly

President Hu Jintao said at the UN climate change summit in September that he will strive to make China's "non-fossil energy" account for about 15% of primary energy consumption by 2020. Yesterday, the CBN reporter learned from the informed sources of the "new energy industry revitalization and development plan (draft)" (hereinafter referred to as "planning") to write a target figure of 15%. The plan said: "By 2020, new energy generation will account for 15% of total installed capacity (35% for hydropower)." It also states that the installed capacity of solar power will reach 2 million kilowatts in 2011 and 2020, respectively. With 20 million kilowatts, the development goals of the nuclear power industry in 2011 and 2020 were 12 million kilowatts and 86 million kilowatts respectively, and wind power was 35 million kilowatts and 150 million kilowatts, respectively.
It is worth noting that the nuclear power and solar power generation target for 2020 is 1 and 9 times higher than the national plan previously set.
In the "Mid-term and long-term development plan for renewable energy", the installed target for the solar energy industry after a decade is set at 1.8 million kilowatts. If 20 million kilowatts is determined, it is equal to a nine-fold increase from the plan two years ago. Wei Qidong, secretary general of the Jiangsu Photovoltaic Association, told CBN reporters that this mainly depends on the domestic solar energy feed-in tariff. “If the country is set at 1.2 yuan/kWh, local governments will make some subsidies and the electricity price will be 1.5 yuan/kWh. It will be easier to promote 2 million kilowatts.” At present, domestic solar cell production capacity has met the requirement of 2 million kilowatts.
This year, Jiangsu's solar cell output will reach about 2 million kilowatts. "Jiangsu accounts for about half of the country's solar cell production. By 2011, the country's solar cell output will have 5 million kilowatts, which is higher than the planned '2 million kilowatts' reference. ."
For wind energy targets, Zou Hui, a researcher with Orient Securities, said that 35 million kilowatts will not be a problem in 2011. “In 2008, the installed capacity of wind power in China has reached more than 12 million kilowatts, and an increase of 10 million kilowatts per year is appropriate.”
Previously, the government had set a target of 40 million kilowatts for the installed capacity of nuclear power in 2020, and this plan mentioned that the installed capacity of nuclear power will reach 86 million kilowatts by 2020. Coincidentally, on October 23, Zhang Guobao, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and director of the National Energy Administration, once said that China is now studying whether it is necessary to revise the (nuclear power) target that was originally set to reach 40 million kilowatts by 2020.
