The difference between open road grinding, closed road grinding and partial closed road grinding

In beneficiation plant, according to the degree of difficulty and ground ore grinding product size requirements for different grinding operations may be carried out under open circuit conditions, it is possible, under the semi-closed or partially closed in a closed condition.

Open road grinding is the grinding material only passes through the grinding machine once, the grinding machine discharge is the qualified product, and there is no part that returns to the grinding machine for grinding. The product has a coarser grain size when the open grinding is performed, and the maximum particle size is about 2 to 3 mm. Therefore, it is only suitable for the beneficiation process where the grinding size is coarse.

Closed-circuit grinding is the classification of the material discharged from the grinding machine into the classification operation, dividing the material into two parts: returning sand and overflowing. Sand return is an unqualified over-thick part and needs to be returned to the mill for re-grinding. Therefore, a part of the coarse particles have to pass through the mill more than once. The slurry overflowing from the lower part of the classifier is called overflow. Some of the overflows enter the secondary classification, and some are sent to the beneficiation operation as the final product.

Semi-closed or partially closed-circuit grinding is often used in two-stage grinding processes. It divides the sand return of the classifier in the first grinding unit into two parts, one part returns to the first stage grinding machine and then the other part to the second stage grinding machine.
