Working fire in Stone Park, 12-1-16
The Stone Park Fire Department responded this morning (12/1/16) to a basement fire at 1538 N. 40th Avenue. The incident involved a two-story, vacant single-family home, and it was classified as a working fire. Firefighters deployed two lines to tackle the blaze, which was quickly brought under control.
Mutual aid units from several nearby departments assisted in the response, including a Leyden truck, Bensenville squad and battalion chief, a Berkeley engine, Northlake truck, and an ambulance from Melrose Park. Additional support came from a River Forest ambulance and a Norwood Park engine for the change of quarters. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
