Externally threaded inserts feature threads on both the inside and outside of the insert. These inserts are either threaded into a pre-tapped hole or can tap their own threads in a drilled or molded hole, and then secured using locking elements like nylon. They are commonly used in plastic, wood, or composite materials. We provide both metric and inch standard thread inserts, with popular sizes including M6, M8, M10, M12, 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", and 1/2".
Barrel nuts or dowel nuts are typically used with Allen drive flat head furniture bolts. Common specifications include M6×10×11, M6×10×15, M8×12×20, and M8×13×15.
DIN 557 or DIN 562 square nuts are often used in conjunction with square bolts or roofing hardware. Additional options include standard K 460, K462 Square Nuts, and ANSI B18.2.2 Square Nuts.
Self-clinching nuts are ideal for sheet metal applications. They are inserted into pre-drilled holes and secured by applying parallel pressure to the nut’s head, causing the surrounding metal to flow into an undercut, making the fastener an integral part of the sheet. A serrated clinching ring prevents rotation after installation. Both inch and metric sizes are available.
