Working fire in Park Ridge, 12-13-14

This is from Steve Redick:

I arrived at the scene early Saturday evening. The smoke conditions were decent as I was driving down the street, but it had already cleared by the time I got into position. From what I could tell, this was an attic fire that was brought under control using a large exterior line. Two additional crosslays were also deployed. It was interesting to see the truck, which is a quint, operating as an engine, supplying all the lines. I'm guessing they might have been the first on scene, or perhaps they were short an engine for some reason. I've always enjoyed capturing these types of operations. There wasn't much to see from my vantage point, but it sounds like this was a solid response.

I took a few shots while I was there, and I think they turned out pretty well. The E-One tower ladder was definitely a standout piece of equipment, and it looked like it was doing its job effectively. The smoke was still visible in some areas, which made for a good contrast with the fire department's efforts. It's always impressive to see how quickly they respond and how efficiently they work under pressure. Definitely worth documenting.
