Box Alarm fire in Oak Forest, 12-30-17

Here's a report from Eric Haak:

Below are some images capturing the efforts of firefighters working on a MABAS Box in Oak Forest on the morning of December 30th. The initial call was received by Markham for a commercial property located at 165th and Pulaski at 4:42 AM. Markham Engine 33 arrived first and reported that the fire was in a small warehouse with visible flames through the roof. It was later confirmed that this was an Oak Forest dispatch, which occurred shortly after. The fire was in a 50x50 metal-clad building filled with various vehicles. The nearest hydrant was about 300 feet away, and access to the scene was very limited. The alarm was boxed at 5:11 AM. Firefighters used three lines from the front of the structure, and vent holes were eventually cut in the rear. I didn’t stay until the fire was completely extinguished, so I can’t provide details beyond that. Temperatures remained just above freezing throughout the incident.
