It is reported that on December 12, the National Joint Engineering Laboratory for Freshwater Fish Breeding was officially opened at the Heilongjiang Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. It is reported that this is the first national-level engineering laboratory in China's aquatic industry.

As a supporting unit of the National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, the Heilongjiang Fisheries Research Institute has been at the leading position in the field of freshwater fish breeding. Therefore, Heilongjiang Province established a research and development base for cold water fish in China, solved a series of key technical problems in the development of cold water fish industry, and successfully cultivated suitable northern China by combining traditional breeding and molecular biology techniques. In the region, there are 4 new breeding varieties of freshwater fish such as Matsuura Mirroring, Songpu Silver Stork and Red Lotus, among which 7 breeding and 4 introduced cultivars have been recognized as improved varieties by the National Aquatic Products Research and Approved Committee, accounting for about 26 kinds of improved aquaculture products in China. %, the improved breeding area covered 60% of the available water in the north, which greatly promoted the rapid development of the freshwater aquaculture industry in China.
