This just came in from Larry Shapiro. Arlington Heights firefighters got a call Thursday evening (3/17/16) about smoke coming from a house at 127 N. Evanston Avenue. When they arrived, there was visible smoke coming from the split-level house located in a cul-de-sac. The alarm was quickly upgraded to a Code 4 working fire, which brought in additional units from Arlington Heights, as well as a truck from Mount Prospect and an engine from Prospect Heights.
The firefighters managed to get the attic fire under control within about 20 minutes by accessing it through a scuttle. It sounds like they did a great job containing the situation pretty quickly.

There are several shots showing different angles of the fire trucks and equipment on site, including some close-ups of the Pierce Quantum fire engines and Arlington Heights’ ambulances. There’s also a shot of one of the department’s Ford Explorers parked nearby.
