Autodesk AI strengthens Fusion and Alias, increasing design and make productivity, efficiency, and inspiration

At Autodesk University (AU), we’re thrilled to introduce some groundbreaking advancements in AI-powered capabilities for Fusion and Alias. These innovations aim to enhance productivity and creativity for designers and engineers dealing with increasingly complex products. Firstly, Autodesk AI is introducing AutoConstrain in Fusion Automated Sketching. This feature analyzes sketches to identify spatial relationships like symmetry and scale, suggesting constraints to ensure design intent remains consistent throughout the project. As you work, it dynamically adjusts, offering new constraint options for a reliable outcome. By automating this process, designers save time that would otherwise be spent manually setting constraints, preventing costly downstream errors. In addition, Drawing Automation in Fusion streamlines the creation of 2D drawings from 3D models. A single click generates detailed drawings complete with dimensions, and Autodesk AI optimizes this further by intelligently laying out sheets, applying styles, and even removing unnecessary fasteners. This saves hours of repetitive labor and ensures precision. For automotive designers, Form Explorer is coming to Alias. This tool uses AI to rapidly generate realistic design forms based on a brand's historical style language, allowing designers to experiment freely and see instant iterations. Autodesk Assistant in Fusion is another exciting addition. Powered by AI, this on-demand expert provides answers tailored to Fusion tasks and broader manufacturing best practices, accessible directly within the Fusion interface. EV pioneer Vayve Mobility utilized Fusion for the entire design and manufacturing process of their concept electric vehicles, the three-seater Eva and the five-seater CT5. Their vehicles feature integrated solar panels for extended range, showcasing how Fusion supports rapid prototyping and innovation. Fusion continues to expand its capabilities, now encompassing CAE, ECAD, PLM, MES, and more. Performance enhancements and a new Manufacturing Data Model API make Fusion faster and more integrable with tools across the design and manufacturing ecosystem. Partnerships with companies like Paperless Parts and Avnet enrich Fusion workflows, improving efficiency and accelerating time to market. Our goal is to empower manufacturers by leveraging AI and data to simplify complexity. As more tools and processes connect, we’re committed to helping you stay ahead in this dynamic industry. Register for a digital pass at AU 2024 to explore these innovations further. This is just the beginning. As we continue to develop these capabilities, we’re excited about the future where AI and data drive unprecedented productivity and creativity in manufacturing.
