DUBAI, U.A.E. & DOHA, Qatar – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, has announced that it has secured a Building Information Modeling (BIM) services contract with Qatar Rail. This partnership marks a significant step forward in the development of Qatar's modern integrated railway network. The agreement was signed during an event in Doha, where Eng. Saad Ahmed Al Muhannadi, CEO of Qatar Rail, and Mr. Callan Carpenter, Vice President of Global Services at Autodesk, were present.

Qatar Rail is tasked with designing, building, commissioning, operating, and maintaining the country’s entire rail system. Its work aligns directly with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to drive sustainable development and improve the quality of life for citizens. By choosing Autodesk’s BIM solutions, Qatar Rail is leveraging cutting-edge technology to support its ambitious infrastructure projects. The implementation of BIM will help reduce project delays, lower costs, and enhance collaboration across all stages of railway development.

Over the next three years, Autodesk will provide a range of services, including BIM standards development, quality control, and cross-organizational integration. A dedicated technology platform will be introduced to train and support Qatar Rail’s team, ensuring smooth implementation of BIM practices. Additionally, Autodesk will establish specific BIM protocols that will serve as a foundation for future projects and contracts.

“A robust BIM process can bring substantial benefits to national infrastructure projects like those led by Qatar Rail,” said Callan Carpenter, Vice President of Global Services at Autodesk. “From design through construction and operations, BIM improves efficiency, reduces errors, and supports better decision-making. We are proud to be Qatar Rail’s partner in realizing these goals.”

Louay Dahmash, Head of Autodesk Middle East, added, “We are excited to support Qatar Rail in building a world-class transportation network. Implementing BIM in public infrastructure will help minimize conflicts, improve quality, and ensure more predictable outcomes. As a pioneer in BIM solutions, Autodesk is fully committed to enabling successful project delivery in Qatar.”

With the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) poised to invest over $1.3 trillion in civil construction projects, BIM technologies are becoming essential tools for managing large-scale infrastructure. Autodesk’s BIM solutions offer a smart, model-driven approach that enhances accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency—enabling faster, more cost-effective, and environmentally friendly project execution.
