4-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 1978
Well, I've finally started cleaning up some of my old fire-related stuff now that I'm a retired guy. While going through my collection, I found an old home-made recording of the 4-11 alarm at Z-Frank Chevrolet on Granville and Western in 1978. I remember I was on my way to college classes when I "took this in." It was snowing heavily that day, and I managed to capture a few images before heading off to class. The main FAO radio voices were Dan Evans and George Brown. I’m not exactly sure who the chief was in the 27th district back then, but it’s definitely a piece of history worth sharing. Enjoy the memories!
